Promising Teacher Partnerships

Staying connected with the classroom

Each year, I plan to strike up five Promising Teacher Partnerships. Promising Teacher Partnerships are a collaborative relationship where a teacher and I agree to work together on the creation and filming of lessons. Promising Teachers and I co-create lessons, which they get a chance to try out in their classrooms. Teachers get the help of an expert curriculum designer, can benefit from my feedback, and get a chance to try out new curriculum created specifically for their classroom setting. It’s a great opportunity for us to bounce ideas off of each other. And, it’s free!

I also love to teach.  So promising teachers must be willing to relinquish their class to me.  It’s a win-win situation because I get to stay in touch with the challenges facing teachers, be aware of the curricular shifts that are happening, and take home amazing video footage of teachers and students in action.  With teacher, student and parent permission, I also photocopy student work to show at conferences.  It makes my contributions all the more meaningful!

If you are interested in collaborating with me, please send me an email so we can start a quick conversation.  Tell me where you teach, what grade, what language, what subjects, and how long you have been teaching.  Also, tell me what some challenges have been and how you believe I can be of greatest help to you.  Promising Teachers may be completely new or experienced teachers.  You can be in a far-away district or in New York City.  You can teach in any language you like!  I do not discriminate!
